The quarter has finished. For the first time in months, I have time to catch my breath and write, write, write. Maybe not always on the blog, but on papers, reviews, my thesis and the like. Hopefully, a little writing just for me as well. We'll see.
I am at a weird place in what I am deciding where I will spend the next 4-5 years of my life. If I think too much about it, I could go crazy. I am forced to take my friend, Matthew Jame's wise, sage advice in that the decision will make itself. The contenders are Seattle, WA; San Diego, CA; College Park, MD, and possibly but not certainly other contenders are Santa Barbara, CA and Toronto.
I am leaning towards to the West Coast eliminating MD, but it is a hard decision between my West Coast possibilities. The irony (dare I use the term) being that I never pegged myself, up until this year, as a West Coast girl. I always saw myself in New York City or DC. I have a tendency to eat my words, so we'll see. In the next month, I will have made my decision and report. In the meanwhile, I suppose I just enjoy the limbo.
I am sticking around Ohio for spring break because shortly thereafter I have two trips scheduled to the West Coast. First I go to LA to visit April (another non-West coast intended girl who seems to really like it out there), present at a conferene, and travel to San Diego to visit the university. After coming back for a few days to teach, do laundry, and re-pack, it's off to Seattle to stay with Matthew James and visit their university. If my other contenders enter the race, Santa Barbara and Toronto, I don't know what I will do.
Big projects for the break are my thesis, dog-sitting for Christina (which I am so excited about), finishing my review for the Theatre Journal (which I am 'working on' right now), and to start biking to get ready for the GRABAWR.
