The Kindness of Strangers

After being jerked around by Sprint, Larry the customer service man chose to show me compassion. Thank you Larry the customer service man. You treated me like a human being, you didn't transfer me, and kept me from throwing my phone through the window.
It may sound like I jest, but I am sincere. It is amazing what a small act of compassion can do. It didn't take much, but it revitalized my belief in my people. Up until that point, Sprint had convinced me that all humans were mean idiots on power trips. Larry changed that.
Now do I really believe that everything with Sprint is patched up? No. I am sure that yet again my bill is wrong, but at least someone tried in earnest to help me.

I don't know how Blanche made it though. For me, the kindness of strangers is few and far between. But I guess, if we really think about it, Blanche didn't make it too far either.
